Cortex

Cortical modification of pattern induced flicker colors
Both PIFCs and NCS influence PIFCs. Phase sensitive interactions which lead to PIFCs are not a result of interactions within the retinal network alone. The color modifications occurred also under dichoptic viewing conditions, which indicates that further processing steps in the brain are involved. Our work provides evidence that the color induction evoked by a neighboring color takes place in the visual system after binocular fusion in the cortex.
